Mentor Requirements and Expectations

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor with Sisters In Faith! Before you complete the application, please review the following requirements and expectations to ensure this role is a good fit for you.

Mentor Requirements:

  • Age: Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Faith Commitment: Must be a practicing Christian.

  • Background Check: Must pass a background check.

  • Training: Complete all required training sessions provided by Sisters In Faith.

  • Availability: Commit to mentoring for a minimum of one year.

  • Communication: Ability to meet in person once a month and check in with your mentee weekly via phone, text, or video chat.

  • Willingness to Travel: Must be willing to travel to meet your mentee in person for monthly meetings.

Mentor Expectations:

  • Weekly Check-Ins: Check in with your mentee weekly to provide support, encouragement, and guidance.

  • Role Model: Serve as a positive role model, exemplifying Christian values and principles in all interactions.

  • Support: Provide emotional and spiritual support to help your mentee navigate life's challenges.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information shared by your mentee, except in cases where disclosure is required by law or for the safety of the mentee.

  • Participation: Actively participate in Sisters In Faith events, trainings, and community service activities.

  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with Sisters In Faith staff and mentees parent/guardian.

  • Respect Boundaries: Respect and uphold all boundaries and guidelines set by the Sisters In Faith program.

By committing to these requirements and expectations, you will play a crucial role in empowering young women to grow spiritually, thrive personally, and serve purposefully through fellowship, mentorship, and biblical teachings.
